Director for Department of Heavy industries Ahmedabad Visit

Director for Department of Heavy industries Ms Ritu Pande visited Ahmedabad on 14th & 15th of June to interact and understand Plastics machinery sector. During these two days she could visit and acquaint some of the major machinery types under Plastics machinery:

  • Ferromatik Milacron India Pvt. Ltd.: Injection moulding & Blow Moulding
  • Windsor Machinery Ltd.: Film Plant and Twin Screw Extrusion
  • N A Roto Machines & Moulds India (Naroto): Rotational moulding machine
  • Mamata Machinery Pvt. Ltd.: Packaging Machinery
  • Neo Plast Engineering Pvt. Ltd.: Pre-processing Auxiliary (Mixers & Grinders)
  • Vihan Engineering: Post Processing Auxiliary (Socketing machines for Pipes)

All our members who could interact were very happy for free discussions. Ms Pande’s effort to understand our sector and our needs was much appreciated by the members. The action points those emerged during the discussions for PMMAI members to work on are as follows.

  • Establish vendor cluster at Major Industry locations to develop quality suppliers of parts as done in Automotive industry
  • Evaluate possibility of developing presently imported technology parts - such as Servo Motors & Drives - at IMTMA vendor park under development at Tumkur
  • Evaluate possibility of developing common parts with Textile machinery at TMMA vendor park at Surat (under Government approval)
  • Develop BIS standards for Plastics machinery - start off with one product category for gaining experience
  • Interaction with Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) for bringing up their curriculum to our needs
  • Identify institutes (IITs, Universities in Germany) to associate with industry for Research & Development
